Journal Entry Reveals Alleged Loch Ness Monster Sighting from 1954
A newly surfaced journal entry from a British Army Major details an extraordinary account of seeing a large creature in Loch Ness.
A journal entry, hidden for 72 years, has come to light detailing an eyewitness account of the Loch Ness Monster. The account was penned by Major Bill Davidson in 1954.
Davidson, a former British Army Major, described seeing a creature with a "huge snake's head" and a long neck while on holiday with his son, Bob, near Urquhart Castle. The entry, recently shared by Bob Davidson, details how the creature was spotted in the water and made a loud noise.
Bob Davidson stated that his father's account has remained largely forgotten until now. The description in the journal entry is somewhat reminiscent of the famous 1934 photograph taken by Robert K. Wilson, a London surgeon, although the journal entry describes the creature's head as reptilian.
The sighting reportedly occurred on a sunny afternoon. According to the journal, the creature was approximately 100 yards away from the Davidsons and submerged after a few minutes. The entry also notes a loud noise emanating from the creature. The Davidsons said they spotted the creature in the water near Urquhart Castle.
