Television personality Josie Gibson has revealed the outcomes of her recent arm surgery, which she underwent to treat Lipoedema, a medical condition characterized by the abnormal buildup of adipose tissue. Gibson, 41, shared images on Instagram showcasing her transformed arms while wearing a series of dresses.

Gibson disclosed in March that she had undergone a brachioplasty, a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arm, stating that approximately 45% of the fat from her arms was removed. This surgery followed a liposuction procedure, for which she reportedly spent £7,000. Gibson explained that she felt hindered by the condition, which caused her to struggle with excess weight in her arms despite exercise.

Lipoedema is a chronic disorder that leads to the symmetrical accumulation of fat, primarily in the legs, hips, buttocks, and sometimes the arms. According to the Cleveland Clinic, a brachioplasty typically lasts one to two hours and is performed under general anesthesia, usually resulting in a scar along the inner arm. Recovery takes about one to two weeks, with restrictions on heavy lifting for four to six weeks.

Gibson elaborated on her journey, mentioning that she felt self-conscious in sleeveless clothing due to the condition. She also detailed her broader wellness efforts, which include using a treadmill for exercise, collagen supplements, electrolytes, and lymphatic drainage treatments. She has also explored hyperbaric oxygen therapy for healing and has incorporated elements of wellness practices such as NAD+ and glutathione injectables for anti-aging and healing support.

Gibson noted that while she experienced no pain from the brachioplasty, the recovery period temporarily limited her usual busy schedule. She expressed gratitude for having undergone the procedure, stating she is a fast healer and glad to have had it done.
