Josh Hart Teases Jalen Brunson Over SNL Debut
Knicks forward humorously suggests NBA Finals MVP lacks a future in acting.
During the New York Knicks' media day on Monday, forward Josh Hart offered a lighthearted critique of teammate Jalen Brunson's recent hosting debut on "Saturday Night Live." Hart, with a discernible smirk, told reporters that while he thought Brunson's performance was "fine," he doesn't believe the NBA Finals MVP "has a future in acting."
Brunson made history as the first player from the Knicks to host the iconic sketch comedy show, which marked the premiere of its 52nd season. Hart was among several Knicks starters, including Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, and OG Anunoby, who attended Brunson's appearance.
During Brunson's opening monologue, each of his teammates present had a moment on stage. Hart used his camera time to reference their co-hosted podcast, "The Roommates Show," and humorously questioned if Brunson's reported $113 million contract extension from July 2024 was still up for negotiation. The exchange between Hart and Brunson included playful jabs, with Hart referencing an on-court incident during the team's NBA Cup victory.
Following the "SNL" taping, Hart and his wife, Shannon, were seen heading to the show's after-party. The Knicks are preparing for the upcoming 2026-27 NBA season, which is scheduled to begin on October 20 with a game against the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden.
