Actor Josh Duhamel has called on Minnesotans to vote in the upcoming midterm elections, emphasizing the importance of civic duty in a video posted to Instagram. Duhamel described Minnesota as "God's country" and urged residents to participate, stating, "It is worth saving." He encouraged a "100 percent turnout" and stressed that voting is a "sacred duty" for American citizens.

While Duhamel did not endorse any specific candidates, his message prompted varied interpretations in the video's comments section. Some viewers interpreted his call to action as an endorsement of conservative candidates, with comments like "Worth saving means vote red" and "Red red red all down the ballot." Others expressed support for Democratic candidates, with one user writing, "Vote blue save us all!!!!" and another stating, "Let’s go blue! Please save our children!"

Duhamel, who has expressed a fondness for the Midwest and recently listed his Los Angeles home after relocating to North Dakota, shared that he owns a cabin in Minnesota. He described this property as a place where his "heart rate drops" and he feels at peace, enjoying activities such as fixing things and spending time outdoors with his family. He told People magazine in September 2025 that he enjoys this off-the-grid lifestyle as a way to disconnect from modern amenities and focus on basic activities, which he feels is beneficial for him and his children. He also shared with Parade in April 2025 that he spent 15 years building the cabin, seeing it as a way for his family to "get back to the basics" and for him to pass on a legacy away from the distractions of luxury.

In his Instagram post, Duhamel encouraged followers to "Bring a group to the voting booths on Nov 3" and to share the video widely. He also added a rallying cry of "Go Viks! Woo!" at the end of his message.
