Actor Josh Duhamel, 53, has candidly discussed the significant age difference between himself and his wife, Audra Mari, 32, admitting he feels "too old" for her.
Duhamel, who previously starred in "Transformers," shared his thoughts on a recent episode of "The HoneyDew With Ryan Sickler" podcast. He drew a parallel between his relationship with Mari and his own family dynamics, specifically recalling when his youngest sister, Kassidy, was born while he was in college.
"Kassidy came along and I was playing football at Minot State University," Duhamel recounted. "I remember looking up at the stands and I saw my mom and had this bump. And I’m like, 'Is my mom pregnant?' I’m 21 years old and she’s having another baby."
He later realized a striking similarity between that period of his life and his current relationship. "There’s a picture of me holding Kassidy as a 21-year-old young man with this little bitty infant," he said. "I looked at the photo and I looked at my wife and I said, 'You and Kassidy are exactly the same age.'"
This realization led to his humorous quip about the age gap: "I am officially too old for you. They’re literally like months apart in age. I never looked at it like that until I saw that photo. I was like, 'Wait a second.'"
Duhamel and Mari, a former Miss World America, began dating in late 2018 and married in 2022. The couple welcomed their daughter, Rocca de Leon Duhamel, in May. They are also parents to their son, Shepherd, born in January 2024.
Duhamel also shares a son, Axl, with his ex-wife, Fergie. He and the singer were married from 2009 to 2017, with their divorce finalized two years later. Describing their past marriage, Duhamel noted their differing views on life but emphasized their shared goal of positive co-parenting for their son. He also stated that Fergie and Mari have a good relationship.
Duhamel and Mari first confirmed their relationship in 2019 and announced their engagement in January 2022. They exchanged vows later that year in Fargo, North Dakota. Shortly after the wedding, Duhamel sustained a back injury during a celebration.
