Actor Josh Duhamel has sold one of his Los Angeles homes, stating his intention to invest the proceeds in his North Dakota property. Duhamel, who stars in the Netflix series "Ransom Canyon," is splitting his time between Fargo, North Dakota, and Los Angeles.
He explained that the recently sold Encino home, which he purchased for $2.9 million, served as a transitional space after his divorce. Duhamel currently resides in Fargo with his wife, Audra Mari, their two young children, and his 12-year-old son from a previous relationship, Axl, visits from Los Angeles. The family also maintains an off-the-grid cabin in Minnesota.
Duhamel described his off-the-grid lifestyle in Minnesota as a way to "get back to the basics" and allow his children to experience nature. He noted that this way of life has also informed his role in "Ransom Canyon," a neo-Western drama set in the Texas Hill Country. Duhamel plays the owner of a large ranch and stated that his own experiences with tractors and ranch-related activities provided a connection to the show's themes of land, legacy, and community care.
"Ransom Canyon," which also stars Minka Kelly, follows three rival ranching families. Season two of the series is currently available on Netflix. Duhamel indicated that while balancing the show's Western elements with romantic storylines is a key objective, maintaining the gritty, cowboy aesthetic remains a priority.
