Actor Josh Duhamel has put his Encino, California, mansion on the market, with an offer reportedly already made on the property just days after it was listed for $2.99 million. The sale signals a continued embrace of a more secluded lifestyle for Duhamel, who has been spending considerable time at a rustic lakeside property in Minnesota.
Duhamel purchased the Los Angeles home in 2017 for $2.65 million. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom residence is located in a cul-de-sac and features privacy hedges, a pool, a jacuzzi, and a sauna. The master bedroom underwent renovations as part of the Amazon Freevee show "Hollywood Houselift." The property was also listed for rent at $15,000 per month in 2024.
The move away from California is connected to Duhamel's long-term project at his Minnesota property, which he affectionately calls his "doomsday cabin." He acquired the lakeside home 16 years ago and has been actively developing it, including installing plumbing and a well. Duhamel described the cabin as a place where "you still feel like you're roughing it," offering a contrast to the amenities of his Encino home.
Duhamel, 53, has three children: Axl, 12, with ex-wife Fergie, and two children with his current wife, Audra Mari. He and Mari married in 2022. He told Country Living that the Minnesota property is about 40 minutes from civilization and provides an "exhale" for his family, allowing his children to engage in outdoor activities like catching frogs and collecting sticks.
Duhamel stated his motivation for developing the Minnesota property stemmed from a passion for a simpler life. He described the process as "homesteading" for the first 12 years, during which time the residence initially lacked plumbing. He now feels deeply connected to the Minnesota property, having shaped it himself over 15 years. He also expressed a belief that connecting with nature helps ground people and counteracts the anger often amplified by constant device usage.
The Encino property was listed by Coldwell Banker Realty agent Thomas Atamian.
