Actor Josh Duhamel has listed his home in Encino, Los Angeles, for $2.9 million, signaling a shift in his lifestyle and location preferences. The move comes after Duhamel relocated his family to Minnesota to embrace an off-the-grid existence.

The Encino property, originally built in 1962, spans 3,310 square feet and features four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The residence offers panoramic views of the mountainside. Inside, the home includes a great room with high ceilings and a renovated chef's kitchen with a large center island. The primary suite boasts two walk-in closets and an en-suite bathroom. Exterior amenities include a swimming pool, an outdoor firepit, a built-in barbeque, and various dining and lounging areas.

Duhamel's decision to list the property follows his earlier comments about moving away from Los Angeles to a self-built home in Minnesota, a retreat he spent 15 years constructing. He described his new lifestyle as "getting back to the basics," emphasizing family, making memories, and spending time with loved ones away from city distractions. His family in Minnesota includes his wife, Audra Mari, their young son Shepherd, and their daughter Rocca, with his older son Axl from a previous relationship also joining them periodically.

Speaking to People magazine in August 2025, Duhamel referred to his rural Minnesota home as his "doomsday cabin," suggesting he felt approximately 70% prepared for potential apocalyptic events. He noted that the remote location, with the nearest store 40 miles away, allows his children to engage more with nature and outdoor activities rather than screen time.

The listing agent, Thomas Atamian of Coldwell Banker Realty, highlighted the property's blend of architecture, modern updates, privacy, and its prominent position with views of the city and mountains, calling it a standout offering in a premier location.
