Jordyn Woods Unveils New 'Lucky' Bag for Knicks Season Opener

Jordyn Woods marked the New York Knicks' season opener by debuting a new iteration of her now-iconic accessory. Woods presented a "Trophy Gold" version of her Woods by Jordyn Tux Clutch Mini bag during the team's Tuesday game against the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden.

The new colorway serves as a celebratory nod to the Knicks' NBA championship win in June. Woods, who was seated courtside alongside her husband, Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns, sported a suede outfit and gold heels. When asked about her previous "lucky orange bag" from last season, Woods humorously stated it was "in retirement," introducing the new gold bag as being "for the trophy."

Towns, 30, also participated in the tradition of posing with the bag, mirroring their ritual from the previous season. The ostrich clutch, designed by Woods, retails for $155 and is also available in black, blue, snake, and off-white crocodile.

Woods' bright orange bag became a symbol of good fortune throughout the Knicks' successful postseason run. The team's sole loss during that period occurred when Woods reportedly left the bag at home due to a Game 3 no-bag policy. She previously told Vogue that the bag's presence had become so ingrained that fans would blame her for changing the team's luck if she wasn't seen carrying it during close games.

Towns himself acknowledged the bag's perceived influence, famously remarking after a Game 5 victory, "The bag did its thang tonight! I ain’t gon’ lie to you. We gotta put this in like the Whitney or the Guggenheim." True to his word, the bag was later put on display at the Guggenheim Museum following the Knicks' championship victory.

Woods expressed her surprise and honor at the recognition, stating in a press release, "The Guggenheim is one of my favorite places, and I never imagined that something I designed would one day be on view at the museum."

Woods and Towns were married in August in a high-profile ceremony in Malibu, California. The event was attended by numerous celebrities, including Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, Justin and Hailey Bieber, and Jada Pinkett Smith.
