Jordon Hudson Absent from UNC Game Amidst Reports of Bill Belichick Breakup
Hudson's absence from North Carolina's close loss to Miami coincides with reports that her relationship with coach Bill Belichick has ended.
Jordon Hudson was not present at the University of North Carolina's 38-35 loss to Miami on Saturday, a day after reports surfaced detailing the end of her relationship with head coach Bill Belichick. Hudson's absence was noted during the game broadcast and she was not seen in images from inside Kenan Memorial Stadium.
TMZ first reported on Friday that Hudson, 25, and Belichick, 74, had ended their relationship last year. Despite the reported breakup, sources told TMZ and People that Hudson and Belichick remain close friends and are committed to their business partnerships. The same outlets also reported that Hudson is dating other people.
This news comes despite recent public appearances by the couple. Hudson and Belichick were seen holding hands at the Kentucky Derby in May and Hudson has attended several North Carolina football games this season. She was notably present two weeks prior when the Tar Heels defeated rival Duke in Durham, with both her and Belichick seen smiling as they walked off the field together.
Two UNC staffers told USA Today on Friday that they were unaware of the reported breakup, indicating the end of the relationship may not have been widely communicated within the program.
North Carolina, unranked, held a competitive game against the Hurricanes, leading at various points in the third and fourth quarters. The team cut a 10-point deficit in the final minutes to three but failed to recover an onside kick attempt. Belichick's team now holds a 4-4 record and a 2-3 standing in ACC play.
