JonBenét Ramsey's father is urging for new DNA testing in the nearly 30-year-old cold case, citing the recent guilty plea of a former Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) forensic analyst. John Ramsey stated he is pushing for the testing to be conducted at an outside facility following the plea entered by Yvonne "Missy" Woods on June 23 to charges including cybercrime, perjury, attempting to influence a public servant, and forgery.

Woods, a 29-year veteran at the CBI, admitted to criminal conduct that prosecutors said involved deleting data related to critical portions of the laboratory's DNA quality control process. She faces a potential sentence of up to 16 years and is scheduled for sentencing on September 8. While Ramsey acknowledges that Woods' actions did not directly impact the evidence in his daughter's case, he believes her misconduct underscores the need for independent analysis.

"Bottom line is we have the killer's DNA and FGG [familial DNA searching] is the new tool which could give us the killer's name if the police would only use it," Ramsey told Fox News Digital. "There's no logical reason why you wouldn't do it. None whatsoever, but it's frustrating."

He expressed a desire for intervention from former President Donald Trump, stating, "I need to get Donald Trump on them. He'll stir things up one way or the other. But somehow we got to get him to do that. Help us."

However, local officials maintain that Woods' misconduct has not affected the ongoing investigation into JonBenét Ramsey's death. A spokesperson for the Boulder Police Department told Fox News Digital that a review by the CBI found no impact on the case. "Because this is an active homicide investigation, we are unable to answer any specific questions regarding the investigation at this time."

Ramsey has previously advocated for outside testing, expressing frustration over items from the crime scene that he believes were not adequately tested. "We did know that a number of items from the crime scene were sent in for testing, and a number were not tested," he said. "We always kind of wondered why. I mean, items that should have been sampled, but they weren't."

JonBenét Ramsey was found murdered in her Boulder, Colorado, home on December 26, 1996, hours after her parents reported her missing. The case has remained a high-profile mystery for decades. John and Patsy Ramsey were initially suspects but were cleared by DNA evidence in 2008. The district attorney's office has indicated it is exploring advanced DNA testing capabilities through independent laboratories.

John Ramsey told Fox News Digital that he is pushing for new DNA testing after former Colorado Bureau of Investigation forensic analyst Yvonne 'Missy' Woods pleaded guilty to several charges. Woods entered a guilty plea on June 23 to cybercrime, first-degree perjury, attempting to influence a public servant, and forgery for criminal conduct she committed
