Jonathan Taylor Thomas, known for his role as Randy Taylor in the 1990s sitcom "Home Improvement," was arrested on Monday in Westlake Village, California, on charges of public intoxication and resisting a deputy. He was taken to the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff's station and later released.
According to law enforcement sources, Thomas was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by deputies who were investigating the driver for a potential DUI. Sources told TMZ that deputies instructed Thomas to remain in the vehicle, but he allegedly exited and was uncooperative, leading to his arrest for obstruction and public intoxication.
The arrest occurred shortly after Thomas reunited with "Home Improvement" co-stars Patricia Richardson and Taran Noah Smith. In August, Richardson shared a photo on Instagram featuring the three actors, marking a rare public appearance for Thomas. "My other boys," Richardson captioned the image.
Thomas, who became a teen idol for his role on "Home Improvement," stepped away from Hollywood at the height of his fame to pursue education. He later returned to acting briefly, appearing on and directing episodes of Tim Allen's show "Last Man Standing" between 2013 and 2015. He also voiced young Simba in Disney's 1994 film "The Lion King."
