Jonathan Taylor's Wife Weighs in on Trade Rumors Amid Colts' Struggles

As the Indianapolis Colts navigate a challenging season, trade rumors surrounding star running back Jonathan Taylor have intensified, with his wife, Ayanna Taylor, now addressing the speculation on social media. The Colts, currently 2-5, are facing a potential rebuild, leading many to believe they will be sellers at the upcoming NFL trade deadline.

Jonathan Taylor acknowledged his wife's involvement, stating, "It's been out there already, so I think her adding [to it] doesn’t really change anything. You know everybody’s on TikTok these days. So, you just gotta come into work and stay focused." The running back was responding to comments made by Ayanna Taylor in videos posted on TikTok, where she suggested there is "more to this story" regarding his potential trade.

In one video, Ayanna Taylor discussed the rarity of players remaining with the same team for seven years in the NFL and their current uncertain situation. She mentioned that this might be the first time they are not on the same team and that a trade could occur. She also alluded to the team's difficulties, including an 8-2 start in 2025 that dissolved into a losing streak after quarterback Daniel Jones' Achilles injury, and the recent firing of General Manager Chris Ballard following a loss to the then-winless Tennessee Titans.

Ayanna Taylor further explained the Colts' current predicament: a 2-5 record, no GM, and no first-round draft pick for 2027, a consequence of Ballard's previous trade for Sauce Gardner which also involved Adonai Mitchell to the Jets. She questioned the team's ability to attract new leadership with limited options and speculated about the possibility of a rebuild.

"Do they keep him [Taylor] as a contender moving forward in the future? Or do they just cut their losses and trade him for as much asset value as they can?" Ayanna Taylor pondered in a video, while also noting that the rumors were not "proven" and that "nothing is done until the fat lady sings." The videos collectively garnered over 165,000 views.

The NFL trade deadline is November 10. Taylor recently signed a two-year, $44 million contract extension with the Colts during training camp. Despite the speculation, Taylor has stated he has not given the potential trade much thought. However, his wife's social media activity suggests she is actively considering the implications.

"I want to know your guys’ thoughts and what you think. Are we gonna stay on the Colts and just ride in the sunset with them? Or is my life about to completely flip, and I’m about to start a whole new chapter of my life?" she concluded in one video, referring to her life as a "Colts transaction watch."

Four teams have reportedly emerged as potential trade partners for the three-time Pro Bowler: the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and Minnesota Vikings. Taylor has performed well this season, rushing for 587 yards and eight touchdowns in seven games. His 38-yard touchdown against the Vikings was his 77th career touchdown, setting a franchise record. The Colts are scheduled to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8.
