Jon Stewart, host of The Daily Show, pointed out a man with a striking resemblance to former President Donald Trump in a video clip from Sunday. The footage, filmed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, showed Trump speaking to reporters following the FIFA World Cup Final.
Stewart, 63, paused the video during Trump's remarks, where the former president described the match as "incredible" and "four times greater than any FIFA ever held." The comedian then focused on a figure walking in the background, whom he described as having a "Donald-esque doppelganger."
"Who in the world is it- oh my God: Is it a backup Trump?" Stewart asked, feigning disbelief. He sarcastically theorized that the man could have been a body double for Trump, or even an impostor.
Stewart continued with his humorous speculation before eventually stating he would "move on" from the topic. The video clip was reportedly taken as Trump flew in from New Jersey to join players from the Spain Men's National team on-stage at MetLife Stadium after their victory.
A White House spokesperson responded to the segment, stating to the Daily Mail, "Jon Stewart is a talentless hack who clearly suffers from a severe and debilitating disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his peanut-sized brain and ruined his life to the point he has to compensate for his embarrassing inadequacies."
