Jon Hamm is embracing fatherhood for the first time at age 55. The actor discussed becoming a dad during an appearance on the “Today” show.

"The best thing I keep hearing is how much it changes you for the better, and I’m excited,” Hamm said.

News that Hamm and his wife, Anna Osceola, 38, were expecting their first child together broke last month. Hamm, who has experience with children through teaching and his nieces and nephews, expressed both thrill and trepidation about starting his own family.

Hamm and Osceola, who met during the 2015 series finale of “Mad Men,” began dating in 2020. They became engaged in February 2023 and married in June of the same year.

Previously, Hamm was in a long-term relationship with Jennifer Westfeldt, which ended in September 2015 after 18 years. Hamm had previously acknowledged the prospect of being an older parent in a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stating, "It’s not lost on me that I’m 53. I will be the old dad, but so it goes. It could be a good thing. We’ll see."

Hamm's experience as a new parent at 55 comes as Jamie Foxx recently announced he is expecting his third child at age 58 with his girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp. Foxx shared the news during a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” joking about being back in the school drop-off line at his age.
