Jon Hamm Expresses Mixed Emotions on Becoming a Father

Jon Hamm has broken his silence on his wife Anna Osceola's pregnancy, revealing he is "very excited and deeply terrified" about becoming a father.

The actor, 55, discussed his feelings during an appearance on "Late Night With Seth Meyers" on Tuesday evening. He noted that the apprehension he feels about this new chapter is a sentiment he hopes never disappears. "I think I’m doing it right," Hamm said, referring to his conflicting emotions.

Hamm also joked about his age in relation to his future role as a parent. "When your kid is 70, you’ll be like, ‘I did it!’ When I’m 152,” he quipped, referring to himself as an "old dad."

News of Osceola's pregnancy first surfaced in August. The actress, 38, later debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at the 2026 Emmys. During his television appearance, Hamm acknowledged the "peak" timing of Osceola's reveal. "I’m not saying she did it on purpose, but it was some timing," he remarked.

Hamm and Osceola have been a couple since 2020. They first met five years earlier while filming "Mad Men" in Big Sur, California, and they married in June 2023 at the same location. While the couple tends to keep their relationship private, Hamm shared details about their "perfect" wedding, describing it as a small and sparsely attended event.

Prior to his relationship with Osceola, Hamm was with actress Jennifer Westfeldt for nearly two decades. During that time, he expressed reservations about fatherhood and marriage in a 2012 interview, stating he would likely be a "terrible father" and that he did not have a strong desire for children. He also stated he didn't view marriage as something he personally needed, though he respected its significance for others.
