Jon Bon Jovi abruptly ended his Madison Square Garden concert Thursday night, informing fans he was battling a sinus infection. The singer
explained from the stage that he was not performing at his best and apologized to the audience. He asked concertgoers to hold onto their ticket stubs, promising to "figure out how to reschedule" the event.
This incident occurred during the eighth show of Bon Jovi's nine-night residency at Madison Square Garden. The singer, who has been open about his vocal cord surgery in 2022 and his concerns about his singing ability afterward, had previously confirmed to People magazine that his voice had fully recovered.
Bon Jovi announced the Forever Tour in October 2025, describing it as an opportunity to share joy with fans and the band. The tour marked the band's first live performances since the singer's surgery, a period during which he confessed to The Sunday Times in 2024 that he might consider retiring from live performances if his singing was not up to par.
His representative stated that updated information regarding the canceled show would be made available shortly. The rock band's frontman wrote in a statement about the tour that "there is a lot of joy in this announcement — joy that we can share these nights together with our amazing fans and joy that the band can be together." He added, "I am lucky enough to be able to hold a light out to the audience each night and stand in their reflection for a tremendous collective experience — I get to stand in the WE of our concerts."
