JoJo Fletcher has revealed that the intense media scrutiny and rumors surrounding her engagement to Jordan Rodgers after their time on "The Bachelorette" significantly impacted their early relationship. Fletcher, who met Rodgers in 2016 during season 12 of the ABC dating reality show, stated that the constant speculation "wrecked" them during what should have been an exciting period.

"I remember seeing so many ridiculous headlines that were always so far from the truth," Fletcher told Page Six in an exclusive interview. "In the moment, it wrecked us. We were like, ‘Why are they saying this and this?’ and I think part of that contributed to some of the stresses that we had as a new couple and a new relationship trying to figure out life together."

Fletcher explained that the period after their season coincided with the rise of social media, which amplified the media's focus on the show and its contestants. "The media was obsessed with the show at that time," she said.

Despite facing a "pretty tough year" due to the public attention, Fletcher emphasized their commitment to each other. "We’ve always kept choosing each other and we kept choosing to work through it," she stated.

The couple eventually tied the knot in May 2022, after postponing their wedding twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Romy Blair Rodgers, on December 23, 2025, following an emergency C-section.

Jordan Rodgers' estranged relationship with his NFL star brother, Aaron Rodgers, was also a significant storyline during Fletcher's season. Jordan addressed the family estrangement during the show, which generated further media attention. Aaron Rodgers has since indicated that the family is working to rebuild their relationship.

Looking back, Fletcher said she and Jordan can now laugh about the drama that ensued after the show. "Now 10 years later, a baby, it’s just so silly," she remarked. "But it’s a funny story to be able to tell and we’re really lucky that it worked out for us, so I’m forever grateful for that show and that experience."

Fletcher credits their lasting relationship to a conscious decision to return to normalcy quickly after filming concluded. "I think the biggest thing that we did that made a huge difference is we got out of the bubble as soon as we could," she explained. "We went straight back to our normal lives. We were straight back to work. We didn’t stay and we didn’t do all this and that event and that party."

She noted that this approach allowed them to focus on building their relationship away from the public eye. "I think that was really important because there’s so much more learning of each other a lot of hardships that you go through right after the show," Fletcher said. "Everyone thinks it’s this perfect relationship and fairy tale, but you’re really just learning each other. You’re getting thrust into like the real world with real problems and real life obligations and responsibilities."

Fletcher also discussed her partnership with Mucinex, highlighting the importance of prioritizing health, especially as a new mother. "When you become a mom, you don’t get to feel sick," she said. "Being able to have 12-hour relief is a game changer."
