John Torode and Lisa Faulkner have purchased a new home in North London, equipped with a spacious kitchen designed to facilitate the filming of their YouTube show. The couple sold their previous £1.8 million Muswell Hill residence because its galley-style kitchen proved too narrow for their production crew.

A source close to the chefs told the Daily Mail that the increased popularity of their YouTube channel necessitated a move to a larger filming space. "John and Lisa's YouTube show has taken off and they decided that they needed a bigger space to film it," the friend stated. "It was too narrow and not big enough so they had to move. Their shows have really taken off so it’s a great investment for them and now they have the perfect kitchen to take their YouTube project to the next level."

The new property's kitchen will soon be featured on their YouTube channel, titled "John and Lisa's Kitchen and Home." The channel, launched in December of the previous year, releases weekly videos with everyday meals and family-friendly recipes. It has garnered 1.3 million views and amassed 23,000 subscribers.

The couple, who married in 2019 after meeting on Celebrity MasterChef, reportedly negotiated a £105,000 reduction off the asking price for their former home. They had originally bought that property in 2015 for £1.2 million, meaning they are set to make a significant profit of nearly £600,000.

Their former five-bedroom home had been renovated by Torode and Faulkner, who preserved its original Edwardian features. Lisa Faulkner, who publicly shared her breast cancer diagnosis earlier in the year, had previously spoken about using her garden for recovery after an operation. She reflected on her health journey, stating, "In every situation that has happened [to us] there have been dark days, but the light has been quite amazing. And if you keep searching for the light, I think that's what you take from it."

Faulkner had also expressed her contentment with a simpler life, saying, "I said to Johno recently, 'All I want to do is cook with you in our kitchen for YouTube, and act, and if that is my life, I'll be so happy'."

John Torode concluded his 20-year tenure as a host on MasterChef last year following a BBC upheld allegation of him using a racist slur at the show's 2019 wrap party. His contract for the cooking show was not renewed. He co-hosted the program with Gregg Wallace, who also departed the show amid allegations of unacceptable behavior on set, which he denies.
