John Stamos Shares Emotional Health Update on Beach Boys' Mike Love

John Stamos has shared a heartfelt and concerning update regarding the health of Beach Boys frontman Mike Love.

"My beloved friend, father figure, musical hero and mentor, Mike Love, is facing serious health challenges," Stamos posted on Instagram on Sunday. He accompanied the message with photos of himself and Love.

Stamos, who has performed with the Beach Boys for decades, revealed that while doctors have advised Love to prioritize his health, the 85-year-old singer "insists on being on stage." Love believes he needs his band, the audience, and his friends to support him.

"I’ve played with Mike for 41 years. I never imagined how deeply it would affect me to see someone larger than life face something so human and fragile," Stamos wrote. "The Mike Love we see tonight may not be exactly the Mike we’ve always known. But he’s still every bit the Mike we love."

Stamos, 63, reflected on the preciousness of time with loved ones. "The hardest part of loving someone is becoming so accustomed to the miracle of having them there that you forget it’s a miracle at all," he stated. "I want to cherish every second without feeling those seconds slipping away." He concluded, "We don’t know what tomorrow brings. But we have tonight."

In a video that circulated on X, Love was seen seated onstage, mirroring some of Stamos's dance moves. Over the summer, Love had spoken about his recovery from bronchitis and COVID-19, which he said had taken a significant toll. The Beach Boys also abruptly canceled several concerts in late September after a two-month hiatus.
