John Schneider, Star of 'The Dukes of Hazzard,' Makes Rare Public Appearance Amidst Controversies

Veteran actor John Schneider, who rose to fame in the 1980s and later starred in "Smallville," was recently photographed in West Hollywood at the age of 66. Schneider, known for his role as Bo Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard" and Jonathan Kent in "Smallville," was seen leaving the celebrity hotspot Craig's.

He was accompanied by his wife, Dee Dee Schneider, and actress Ruta Lee. Schneider's appearance comes after a period marked by public controversies. In February 2024, he drew criticism and was accused of racism for comparing Beyoncé to a dog marking territory after her entry into the country music genre. During an interview on the conservative network One American News, Schneider, who is also a country musician, stated that "leftist" entertainers try to "seize control over every aspect" of different genres.

The previous year, Schneider faced a Secret Service investigation following a social media post in December 2023. In the post, he wrote, "Mr President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son too." He later deleted the post and denied making a direct threat or advocating for violence. The Secret Service conducted a preliminary investigation into the remarks.

Schneider, who has over 180 acting credits, married Dee Dee Sorvino, the widow of actor Paul Sorvino, in July 2024. Both had lost their spouses in the preceding two years before their marriage.
