John Bishop Appears on TV in Medical Boot After Ankle Injury, Cancels Tour

Comedian John Bishop made an appearance on Friday evening's episode of "The One Show" sporting a medical boot on his broken ankle, an injury sustained in a recent motorbike accident. The 59-year-old performer was forced to cancel his planned U.S. and Canada tour dates in October due to the injury, which prevents him from flying long-haul.

Bishop shared details of the incident, explaining that he was out riding with astronaut Tim Peake when he fell. "I learned comedians are not as good on motorbikes as astronauts," Bishop quipped. "He was going through and I kind of went into a puddle and fell off."

The comedian expressed his disappointment about canceling the tour, stating he was "gutted" to miss the shows scheduled for October 15 to October 25 in New York, Boston, Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto. He assured ticket holders that their point of purchase would be in touch regarding refunds and expressed hope to reschedule the dates.

This injury also led Bishop to withdraw from a charity bike ride for Prostate Cancer UK with Olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy. He had shared a video update on Instagram, showing his leg brace and explaining the circumstances of his injury.

Fans offered well wishes for a speedy recovery, with some making light of the situation, referencing the theatrical good luck wish "Break a leg."
