Podcaster Joe Rogan has suggested that President Donald Trump's administration may have inadvertently aided Democrats in the 2028 presidential election by engaging in a war that many of his conservative supporters opposed. Rogan expressed this view during a conversation with guest Rupert Lowe, stating that while Trump brought some normalcy, the decision to go to war in Iran could be detrimental to Republicans.

"Most people are horrified by the idea because Trump was elected — one of the pillars that he stood for – apparently was that he doesn't want any more wars," Rogan said. He characterized the Iran conflict as something "nobody that's conservative wanted" and that "most people don't want it." Rogan specifically noted that supporters of Israel seemed to be the primary group in the U.S. favoring the war.

Rogan and Lowe also discussed the Trump administration's efforts to cut funding for USAID, which they claimed was used to spread far-left ideology abroad. Rogan cautioned that if a Democrat were elected president in 2028, such initiatives could easily be reinstated, alongside a potential reopening of borders.

Lowe shared a similar concern from a realpolitik perspective, arguing that engaging in war should primarily benefit the nation initiating it. He added that leaders should prioritize the interests of their taxpaying citizens.

Trump's presidency, which began with an anti-establishment agenda, has faced criticism from some longtime supporters who feel he has deviated from his core campaign promises, particularly regarding foreign conflicts.
