Joe Rogan revealed on his podcast that a guest, Sheldon Johnson, who appeared on "The Joe Rogan Experience" in February 2024, was arrested in March of the same year in connection with a murder.

Rogan recounted that Johnson, who was a guest advocating for criminal justice reform, was later accused of killing and dismembering an individual. "He does the podcast and then afterwards goes and visits this guy that apparently he had a beef with, kills him, cuts his head off, puts him in a suit [sic], puts a wig on, and tries to escape in the hallway through the cameras," Rogan said during an episode with guest Zach Bush.

According to the New York Police Department, Johnson was arrested in March 2024 and charged with murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, and concealment of a human corpse. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The Bronx District Attorney's office stated that the victim, 44-year-old Colin Small, was allegedly shot in the head and then dismembered. Investigators found parts of the victim's body in Small's Bronx apartment and subsequently discovered the victim's head and legs in a freezer at Johnson's residence.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed Johnson entering and leaving Small's apartment carrying multiple bags and cleaning supplies, while wearing a wig, sunglasses, and a mask. Authorities found a storage bin similar to one seen on footage inside the victim's apartment, which contained Small's torso.

During his appearance on Rogan's podcast, Johnson discussed his past, including serving 25 years in prison for attempted murder, and his efforts to turn his life around. He spoke about wanting to be a better father to his son and working with the public defense organization Queens Defenders.

Johnson appeared on Rogan's podcast alongside Josh Dubin, a civil rights attorney who advocates for people he believes were wrongly incarcerated

Johnson's father expressed shock at his son's arrest, stating that he believed his son had reformed after serving his previous sentence and had been working in a law office without issues.
