Joe Manganiello Claims Sofía Vergara's Ex Allegedly Put Voodoo Curse on Him

Joe Manganiello has alleged that Sofía Vergara’s ex-fiancé, Nick Loeb, is responsible for a mysterious illness the actor experienced, attributing it to a voodoo curse. The claim is detailed in Manganiello’s newly released memoir, "Bloodlines."

According to the memoir, Manganiello received a phone call from a shaman based in Cuba who informed him that he was ill and that "something is wrong with his intestines." The shaman further explained that someone who still harbored feelings for Vergara had allegedly placed a curse on Manganiello. "Someone from your past is still in love with you. He put a voodoo curse on your husband. He did it in New Orleans," the shaman reportedly told them.

The shaman offered to cleanse and protect Manganiello, suggesting a meeting in Ecuador. Manganiello expressed bewilderment at the shaman's knowledge, noting that the information shared had not been publicly disclosed. "I looked at Sofía, trying to comprehend how the f–k this guy could possibly know any of this," Manganiello wrote in the book. "None of this had been mentioned in the press. No one knew."

Manganiello's memoir suggests he believed the shaman was referring to Loeb, whom Vergara was engaged to before dating Manganiello. Vergara and Loeb called off their engagement in 2014, and she began a relationship with Manganiello that same year.

The actor also noted that Loeb had previously resided in New Orleans, the city the shaman identified as the location where the curse was placed. Manganiello described Loeb as a "trust fund baby" who had experienced significant injuries, including breaking "almost every bone in his body" after a severe car accident while he was with Vergara.

Manganiello and Vergara were married for seven years before announcing their separation in 2023. A source indicated that their differing desires regarding having children contributed to the divorce. Vergara has a son, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, from a previous marriage.
