Joe Lycett Banished from Celebrity Traitors After Boasting

Joe Lycett was banished from the Celebrity Traitors castle on Friday night after his open desire to be recruited as a Traitor raised suspicions among the Faithfuls. Lycett, who had been vocal about wanting to switch sides, made a slip-up at the roundtable that ultimately sealed his fate.

During the discussion, Lycett stated, "I do sort of feel like we are all a family now and, as such, expect to be in all of your wills. Very sad to be going, but what a wonderful group of people. I always wanted to start as a Faithful and end as a Traitor. I started as a Faithful, and I did not get my wish. I am a Faithful."

This statement, coupled with his previous boasts, led to him receiving the majority of votes. James Blunt questioned Lycett's logic, implying that Lycett's potential banishment would necessitate another recruitment, thus preventing a murder that night. While Lycett's departure was met with humor, fellow contestant Miranda Hart became emotional, having formed a close bond with the comedian.

"I can't believe how emotional I'm getting," Hart said, adding, "Connection and laughter and joy are bigger than this game. And to meet someone and just play and laugh, it is all us humans need."

Leigh-Anne Pinnock attempted to cheer Hart up by teaching her choreography from Little Mix's song "Touch."

Meanwhile, the game continued for the Traitors. Maya Jama, James Acaster, and newly recruited Traitor King Kenny were tasked with a new mission: to murder in plain sight. Their objective was to use a peacock bottle containing sleeping powder, hidden in the library, to lure a victim into the lounge and induce them to inhale the powder through yawning.

James Acaster quipped about the nature of the assignment, stating, "Is this a joke? This is what I called out on day one." King Kenny, still new to his Traitor role, expressed surprise at being asked to murder so soon.

The potential victims for this mission were identified as Jerry Hall and Ross Kemp, the latter of whom had been expressing paranoia about being murdered. The episode concluded, leaving viewers to await the outcome of the Traitors' mission.
