Joe Jonas has secured a buyer for his Brooklyn condo, with the deal entering contract on September 24. This development occurred just one day before the release of Taylor Swift's new song, "Patient Zero," which has sparked speculation among fans that it references Jonas and his past relationships.
The Jonas Brothers singer's three-bedroom unit, located on the 26th floor of the Olympia Dumbo building, was initially listed for $6.75 million in June. The final sale price will be disclosed once the transaction is officially recorded.
Swift released "Patient Zero" on September 22 as part of her album "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore." The song is framed as a message from one woman to another, warning her about a shared ex-partner. Listeners have quickly drawn parallels between the lyrics and Jonas's history, particularly his divorce from Sophie Turner. Swift famously offered Turner and her children a place to stay in her Manhattan apartment following the split.
Jonas and Swift have a history themselves, having briefly dated in 2008. Their past short-lived romance, which Swift has described as ending abruptly over the phone, has also fueled fan theories connecting the new song to Jonas.
However, not all fans agree that "Patient Zero" is exclusively about Jonas. Some lyrical elements have led to speculation that other ex-partners might be involved, and Swift has not officially confirmed the muse for the song.
The Brooklyn condo Jonas is selling was purchased in May 2024 for $6.5 million. The asking price of $6.75 million represented a modest profit, but potential costs such as broker commissions and transfer taxes could significantly reduce, or even eliminate, any financial gain.
The 2,654-square-foot corner unit features expansive views of the Manhattan Bridge, the East River, and the downtown Manhattan skyline. A distinctive feature of the apartment is a red-accented lounge with a walnut bar and a vinyl station, which could also serve as a fourth bedroom.
The kitchen is appointed with Fior di Bosco marble and Bocci light fixtures. Monthly common charges for the unit are $3,590. Carl Gambino of the Gambino Group at Compass represented Jonas in the sale.
The Olympia Dumbo building, completed in 2024, is a 33-story waterfront tower with 76 residences and extensive amenities. Notable past and present residents include NBA player Ben Simmons and the songwriting duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The building's penthouse was also featured as Denzel Washington's character's home in Spike Lee's film "Highest 2 Lowest" and previously sold for $16.25 million.
