Joe Doering, a prominent figure in professional wrestling known for his time with All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), has died at the age of 44. The companies announced his passing on Friday, stating that Doering had been engaged in a battle with brain cancer.
AJPW issued a statement expressing condolences and praying for his eternal peace. Similarly, TNA remembered Doering as a commanding in-ring performer and a wonderful person, vowing he would not be forgotten and extending deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
The professional wrestling community shared its grief on social media upon learning of Doering's death. He had entered hospice care earlier in the week.
Doering began his professional wrestling career in 2004 with Border City Wrestling. He went on to compete in various promotions, making appearances for AJPW starting in 2007 and TNA in 2005. He also had a period in WWE's developmental program, Florida Championship Wrestling, in 2010, though he did not debut on WWE's main roster.
During his tenure in AJPW, Doering achieved significant success, holding the World Tag Team Championship four times and the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship twice. He also secured the TNA World Tag Team Championship on two occasions.
