Former President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance in a recorded video for Barstool Sports' "Pardon My Take" podcast, presenting the "Lib of the Year" award to personality "Jersey Jerry" for the third consecutive year. The segment aired during the show's annual Takie Awards episode.

Jerry expressed disbelief upon seeing the Bidens in the video. "What the f---? I was not expecting that," he said. Hunter Biden began the message by referencing his and his father's experiences with recovery before congratulating Jerry on his win. "From one brother in recovery to another, congratulations on the Lib of the Year award," Hunter Biden stated, with Joe Biden appearing beside him. "We were both proud of you. Hey, Jerry, congratulations. Keep the faith, Jerry. Congratulations, dude," the former president added.

The appearance was noted by hosts and online personalities. Barstool founder Dave Portnoy remarked, "I gasped," after the former president's cameo. "Pardon My Take" co-host Dan "Big Cat" Katz contextualized the moment, noting that "one of 45 men who served as president of the United States of America giving you a Takey for Lib of the Year" was a historic event.

This follows a similar presentation in 2025, when former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg awarded Jerry his second consecutive "Lib of the Year" title. The Takies are described as the podcast's annual parody awards ceremony, featuring over 28 categories.
