Joe Amabile, a personality from "The Bachelorette," is reportedly doing well as he prepares for brain surgery to remove a tumor. Amabile, 40, announced in early July that an MRI scan had detected a brain tumor.

Dylan Barbour, another figure from Bachelor Nation, told Us Weekly that he recently saw Amabile in the Hamptons and that he is "doing well." Barbour stated that he talks to Amabile weekly and that while surgery is upcoming, "we’re praying for him." He added that Amabile has maintained a normal routine, continuing to work out and eat well.

Amabile shared details about his diagnosis with his nearly one million Instagram followers. He explained that a full-body scan led to a brain MRI, which revealed a "blueberry size lesion" on his brain. He believes the lesion is a glioma, a type of tumor, and that surgery is required for removal and testing. "They say it’s really early stages," Amabile said, expressing hope for a full recovery and vowing to keep his followers updated.

He acknowledged the unexpected nature of the diagnosis, stating, "I think it’s one of those things where you’re like, 'Oh, something like this [will] never happen to me,' and here I am." Amabile also noted that he is trying to remain positive and is grateful for the support from friends and family.

Amabile's wife, Serena Pitt, whom he met on season 7 of "Bachelor in Paradise," is also preparing for his surgery. Pitt, 28, married Amabile in 2022. She recently asked her Instagram followers for advice and recommendations on making the recovery process as comfortable as possible, sharing that she had already purchased items such as Tylenol, pajamas, and a pillow for the hospital stay.
