Jodie Turner-Smith Accused of Funding Brother's Drug Use, Sex Parties in Lawsuit
Actress denies claims made by three anonymous plaintiffs who allege her brother hosted drug-fueled sex parties at a home she owned.
Actress Jodie Turner-Smith and her brother, Richard Smith, are facing a lawsuit from three anonymous individuals who claim he hosted sex parties and pressured them to use drugs that the actress allegedly funded. The legal documents, filed on Thursday and obtained by the Daily Mail, name Turner-Smith and her brother as defendants.
The claimants allege that Richard Smith invited them to parties where drugs, firearms, and sexual activity were present. Two of the claimants state that Richard Smith pressured them into sexual encounters, with one alleging that her agreement to stay at his Los Angeles home was contingent on engaging in sex with him. This claimant later discovered the property was owned by Turner-Smith.
One of the anonymous plaintiffs also claims Richard Smith referred to her as his "white slave" and himself as her "master." She further alleges a conversation with Richard Smith in which he stated his sister used cocaine with him and helped finance drug purchases. According to the filing, Richard Smith also allegedly used a car provided by his sister, an Audi, to transport packages that purportedly contained narcotics transported across state lines.
The lawsuit asserts that Turner-Smith was aware of her brother's drug use and associated activities, and that she provided him with financial assistance, including paying his bills and enabling him to maintain housing and transportation. The court filing claims the actress "knew about the drug operation, used cocaine with [her brother], helped him pay for narcotics, paid his bills" and provided the vehicle.
Richard Smith, who has a prior felony conviction, is facing accusations of sexual battery, false imprisonment, emotional distress, and fraud. Turner-Smith is being pursued for alleged property-related negligence, negligence per se, child endangerment, and aiding and abetting.
The plaintiffs have chosen to remain anonymous, citing fears of retaliation, harassment, reputational harm, and threats.
A spokesperson for Jodie Turner-Smith issued a statement calling the lawsuit "fictional" and asserting that the claims are "not true."
