Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on "Full House," has offered a glimpse into the current relationship between Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and their former castmates. The Olsen twins, who jointly portrayed Michelle Tanner from infancy until age eight, have maintained a degree of privacy since stepping away from the spotlight.

Sweetin discussed the twins' connections with the "Full House" ensemble on the podcast "Comics and Kicks." "Everyone's on good terms with them, but they were eight years old when this show stopped," Sweetin explained. She noted that the twins subsequently pursued a career in movies produced by their company, Dualstar, which may have altered their relationship with the cast during their formative years.

"At eight and earlier, you don't remember all that much, so it was like, they have a different relationship to being on set all the time," Sweetin said. She contrasted this with her own experience, having been on "Full House" from ages five to 13.

The twins embarked on an intense career path after "Full House," with their globetrotting film productions often featured in tabloids. Following their departure from acting, they transitioned into the fashion industry, co-founding the successful apparel company The Row.

Sweetin also touched upon the Olsens' decision not to participate in the Netflix reboot, "Fuller House." "They don't want attention and I get it. They had so much and were so invaded and so for public consumption, I totally understand why they don't wanna do that," she stated.

Despite their withdrawal from public life, the Olsen twins have shown continued connection to their "Full House" family. They were present at the 2022 funeral of Bob Saget, who played their onscreen father, Danny Tanner. John Stamos, who portrayed Uncle Jesse Katsopolis, shared that he had a "beautiful" reunion with Mary-Kate and Ashley at the memorial service.

Stamos recounted that the twins expressed their gratitude to the cast, saying, "We love you. We loved our childhood. We're grateful for you guys. Thank you for making those eight years so beautiful for us. We have such fond memories. We love you."
