Joan Smalls Fuels Feud Rumors with Candice Swanepoel Over Tom Brady Dating News
Supermodel Joan Smalls made a cryptic comment on Instagram, seemingly confirming rumors of a rift with fellow model Candice Swanepoel amid reports that Swanepoel is dating Tom Brady.
Supermodel Joan Smalls has seemingly confirmed rumors of a feud with Candice Swanepoel, posting a pointed two-word message as news emerged that Swanepoel is reportedly dating Tom Brady.
The potential rift between the two models came to light when fans noticed they had allegedly unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Smalls, 38, addressed the situation in an Instagram comment, writing, “Two words: ‘SUMMER HOUSE!’ That’ll explain everything.” While the specific reference to the Bravo reality show is unclear, its recent season featured a dramatic implosion of friendship between cast members Amanda Batula and Ciara Miller after Batula began dating Miller’s ex-boyfriend.
Further fueling the speculation, Smalls also reportedly called Swanepoel, also 38, a “backstabber” in response to a fan’s question about their friendship. Additional screenshots obtained by DeuxMoi reportedly show Smalls stating, “im not friends with backstabbers.”
In a separate, now-deleted message, Smalls elaborated on the perceived betrayal, writing, “There was no girl code. And the disrespect and carelessness in how they treat you is so unimaginable. There’s no going back.” She added, “Some people lack humility and moral compass. And the way they gaslight, lie and minimize your feelings is the worst slap in the face after 15yrs or friendship. Not a sorry said or written. Onwards and upwards!!!”
Reports that Swanepoel is dating Brady surfaced over the weekend. An insider told People that the pair have been dating for months and that their proximity in Miami has made their relationship convenient. While sources suggest Brady “really likes” Swanepoel, the romance is reportedly not yet “serious.” The retired NFL quarterback was previously married to supermodel Gisele Bündchen from 2009 to 2022.
Page Six has reached out to representatives for both Smalls and Swanepoel for comment but had not received an immediate response.
