Jo Wood has stated that Fearne Cotton has not contacted her or her family since the broadcaster's separation from Wood's stepson, Jesse Wood, in 2024. Wood, a former model and contestant on "Strictly Come Dancing," described her past closeness with Cotton and her surprise at the lack of communication.
Cotton and Jesse Wood, son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, announced the end of their ten-year marriage in 2024. The couple share two children, Rex and Honey. At the time of their separation, Cotton characterized the split as amicable. However, Wood has indicated that Cotton has distanced herself from the family since beginning a new relationship with TV director Elliot Hegarty.
"I haven't spoken to Fearne since," Wood said on the "Suddenly Single" podcast. "She didn't call any of us - nothing." Wood added that she understood Cotton might want to start a new life but found the lack of contact particularly disappointing given her own efforts to maintain relationships with Ronnie Wood and his family after her divorce from him.
"I've got nothing against Fearne," Wood stated. "I think she's lovely, and I understand that when you fall in love with someone you can't help yourself. I'm very happy for her."
Cotton, who left Radio 1 for health reasons and has since found success with her "Happy Place" podcast and wellness brand, has reportedly embraced her new chapter with a "new beginnings" tattoo. Wood continues to maintain a relationship with her grandchildren, referring to herself as "Grandma Jo" and "Gangster Granny."
