Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel generated controversy by posting an AI-generated parody image of Senator Mitch McConnell in the hospital. The image, which depicted Kimmel's face superimposed onto McConnell's body, was shared on Instagram.

McConnell, 84, had recently broken a month-long silence regarding a medical episode by posting a photo of himself with his wife, Elaine Chao. In a statement, the senator explained he had fallen, briefly lost consciousness, and subsequently developed pneumonia while hospitalized. He shared that doctors had ruled out serious conditions such as stroke, heart attack, tumors, or hemorrhages.

Kimmel's post, captioned "For those who’ve been asking, I’m feeling great," quickly drew a range of responses on social media. Some users expressed outrage, calling the post "tasteless" and "disgusting." Others defended the image as "satire" and "funny."

McConnell, who has been absent from the Senate floor due to his recovery, stated that while his condition has improved, he has not yet been cleared by doctors to resume voting. He assured his constituents that he remains engaged in Senate business.
