Jimmy Kimmel pointed out what he considered a strange presidential decision following the midterm elections: President Donald Trump’s proclamation to declare the Oval Office a national monument.
Kimmel suggested on his show that this action, which came after Trump had spent time embellishing the room with gold accents, might indicate a desire to leave the presidency sooner than anticipated. "Why do this now? Why do this right after the midterms?" Kimmel questioned, before offering his own answer: "Maybe he’s planning to leave sooner than we think."
The late-night host compared the embellished Oval Office to "the gift shop at the Liberace Museum." He also joked about the preservation of Trump's Diet Coke button.
Kimmel also remarked on the voters' midterm election results, stating that they rejected Trump and his endorsed candidates, seeking instead lower prices and an end to the conflict with Iran. He concluded by humorously predicting that the decor would be removed quickly after Trump leaves office. "On January 20th, 2029, we are gonna yank that crap down and throw it out faster than Melania moves back to New York," Kimmel said. (1)
