Jimmy Kimmel addressed former President Donald Trump's remarks at a recent Republican midterm convention in Dallas, where Trump claimed to have broken attendance records. However, visible evidence from the event showed numerous empty seats throughout the American Airlines Center.
During his Thursday night monologue, Kimmel highlighted Trump's attempts to convince the audience that the venue was full. He played a clip of Trump addressing the crowd, stating, "I’ve been speaking for an hour and 20 minutes. Nobody’s left. Nobody has left. It’s a great tribute to Trump." The former president also preemptively addressed the media, suggesting they would photograph an empty seat if someone left to use the restroom, falsely claiming it as proof of audience departure.
Trump implored attendees not to leave, saying, "So, please, if you don’t mind, don’t anybody go to the bathroom." In response, Kimmel quipped, "It’s easy for you to say. You’re the only one wearing a diaper."
