Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday highlighted footage of President Donald Trump appearing to doze off during a White House event, drawing parallels to Trump's past criticisms of his predecessor, Joe Biden. Kimmel noted that Trump has frequently referred to Biden as "Sleepy Joe Biden."
"Then, only minutes after invoking the name ‘sleepy Joe Biden,’ nappy Don Trump drifted off to dreamland on live TV," Kimmel said, presenting clips of the president appearing to nod off. The comedian quipped that even Senator Mitch McConnell seemed to react, saying, "Bro, wake up!"
Trump has previously addressed observations of him appearing to fall asleep, explaining to The Wall Street Journal that such moments are often captured when he is merely blinking. "Sometimes they’ll take a picture of me blinking, blinking, and they’ll catch me with the blink," Trump stated earlier this year.
