A confrontation outside a St. Louis Jimmy John's restaurant culminated in gunfire, resulting in a 14-year-old girl being shot in the leg, according to police and court documents. The incident led to the arrest of Adam White, 27, who faces charges including first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Authorities stated the shooting occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on a Saturday near the intersection of Vandeventer and Laclede avenues. The teenage victim was transported to a local hospital and reported to be in stable condition. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department indicated that the dispute involved the girl's mother and several individuals associated with the Jimmy John's located in the 3800 block of Laclede.

The sequence of events, as detailed in court documents, began with a verbal disagreement. The girl's mother's boyfriend later arrived at the restaurant with the 14-year-old. The disagreement escalated, and White, an employee at the restaurant, allegedly became involved in a verbal altercation with a former employee. This dispute moved into the parking lot.

According to investigators, the former employee, her boyfriend, and her juvenile daughter then entered a vehicle. As the vehicle began to drive away, White is accused of firing multiple rounds into its rear, striking the teenage girl in her left leg. Ballistic evidence of damage to the vehicle's trunk was found.

White reportedly fled the scene initially but later returned and was taken into custody. Following a Miranda warning, he allegedly admitted to firing at the vehicle and stated that the firearm was at his residence. A judge ordered White held without bond pending trial. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has not immediately responded to requests for further comment. The mother's specific connection to the Jimmy John's restaurant remains under investigation.
