“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon recently targeted former President Joe Biden's forthcoming memoir, which is slated for release in November. Fallon jested that the book was penned by a "ghostwriter, Joe Biden" and suggested that Vice President Kamala Harris was responsible for writing its ending.

Biden's memoir, titled "Promise Me, America," is set to detail his presidency and explore the "deeply agonizing calculation" behind his decision not to seek reelection in 2024. The book is scheduled to be published on Nov. 17, approximately two weeks after the midterm elections.

During his show, Fallon displayed the book's cover and remarked on its brevity, quipping, "It’s the second book Biden has written. The first was ‘The Odyssey.’ So it’s three pages."

Fallon then incorporated Harris into his comedic segment, stating, "It’s kind of a strange book because toward the end it starts being written by Kamala Harris."

Biden announced the memoir via a video posted to X on Wednesday, noting that he has been undergoing cancer treatment that has been progressing "really well." He described the book as covering "the challenges we face as a nation and about the decisions I made and why I made them, leading the country through COVID, rebuilding our economy and restoring our democracy after the attack on January 6th, ending our nation's longest war in Afghanistan, strengthening NATO and supporting Ukraine."

Lindy Li, identified as a former top Democratic fundraiser, has suggested that Biden's decision to release another book explaining his past actions, particularly his 2024 reelection bid, could be detrimental. According to Li, the memoir might reopen unresolved issues for Democrats, reflecting a microcosm of Biden's presidency. She stated that some within the party felt a desire for him to cease public explanations following his exit from the 2024 race, noting a lack of a significant farewell event beyond a staff gathering.
