Late-night host Jimmy Fallon offered a comedic take on Amazon's decision to produce a new docuseries about former first lady Melania Trump. During a monologue on "The Tonight Show," Fallon joked that the series is necessary to validate former President Donald Trump's claims of seeing his wife.

The new docuseries is a follow-up to a documentary film about Melania Trump released earlier this year, which, according to one reviewer, focused heavily on the former model altering her blouse for her husband's second presidential inauguration.

Fallon's commentary touched on Melania Trump's relative public absence during her husband's political career. Journalist Michael Wolff, in his Substack newsletter, previously stated that the former first lady spends a significant amount of time at Trump Tower in New York and that their interactions are infrequent and highly negotiated.

"Trump and his wife barely speak," Wolff wrote. "There is hardly even the pretense that she lives in the White House. Every appearance is a negotiated one."

Fallon's humor suggested that the upcoming docuseries might document similar meticulously arranged appearances, humorously questioning the subject matter's appeal.
