Australian rock musician Gary Stephen "Angry" Anderson died on Monday at the age of 79, his family and bandmates announced in a social media post. Anderson, a legendary frontman known for his powerful stage presence, was remembered by his close friend, musician Jimmy Barnes, and Barnes' sons for his impact on the music community and his personal kindness.

Jimmy Barnes shared his grief on Instagram, highlighting Anderson's passionate performances and compassionate nature. "We lost a good man this week. Angry Anderson sang from his heart with power and conviction," Barnes wrote. "But don't let that tough outside fool you. He was a caring soul who loved his family, cared for his friends and stood up for the downtrodden."

Jackie Barnes, who toured with Anderson's band Rose Tattoo, recalled his time on stage with the rocker. "Sharing the stage with @gary_angry_anderson and @rosetattooband will forever be one of the great privileges of my life," Jackie posted. He described Anderson as "one of the all-time greatest frontmen" with a "kindest, gentlest" spirit beneath his fierce exterior.
