Jim Davidson Opens Up About New Girlfriend Weeks After Sixth Wedding Cancellation

Comedian Jim Davidson has shared details about his new relationship with Maria Rice-Mundy, his girlfriend of a few weeks, just days after confirming the cancellation of his sixth wedding to ex-partner Natasha.

Davidson, 72, told the Daily Mail that he and Natasha, 49, ended their relationship three months ago, with Natasha initiating the separation. He described his new love, Maria Rice-Mundy, 60, as "too good to be true" and someone who possesses "something special about her."

Maria Rice-Mundy is a former beauty pageant winner who co-hosted television game shows such as "Sale Of The Century" and "Bob's Your Uncle" in the late 1980s. Davidson noted that he has known Rice-Mundy for years, even admitting to gatecrashing her wedding three decades ago.

Davidson stated that he is still processing the breakup with Natasha, which led to the cancellation of their wedding at Hampton Court and a forfeiture of a £10,000 deposit. He mentioned that their relationship had been tumultuous, with monthly breakups. Despite the recent split, he expressed a desire to avoid loneliness and is cautiously exploring his new connection with Rice-Mundy.

"Maria's not a new lady. I've known her for years," Davidson said. "She has something special about her. She makes me feel like I'm not as useless as I've been made out to be."

Davidson's engagement to Natasha began early in 2024, following his divorce from his wife of 14 years, Michelle Cotton. He had previously expressed strong feelings for Natasha, even renaming his yacht in her honor and gushing about her at public events, referring to her as "the one."

The comedian's history includes five previous marriages. His first marriage was to Sue Walpole in 1971, followed by unions with Julie Gullick, Alison Holloway, Tracy Hilton, and Michelle Cotton. His planned wedding to Natasha would have been his sixth.

Davidson confirmed his divorce from Michelle Cotton in April 2023, noting that the house they shared was also in the process of being sold. He stated that he remains on good terms with his ex-wife Michelle, though he avoids visiting their shared home when their dogs are present due to the sadness it evokes.
