New York Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq has encountered a setback with an injury, head coach Aaron Glenn announced Tuesday.
Sadiq is dealing with a complication stemming from his offseason hernia surgery and will be sidelined for an unspecified period. Despite the setback, Glenn expressed confidence that Sadiq will be ready for the regular season opener on September 13 against the Tennessee Titans.
The Jets selected Sadiq 16th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. He was the second of the team's three first-round selections that year, joining defensive end David Bailey and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. In his collegiate career at the University of Oregon, the 21-year-old Sadiq recorded 80 receptions for 892 yards and 11 touchdowns over three seasons. He earned second-team All-American honors and was named the Big Ten Tight End of the Year in 2025.
