New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith was stopped by Davie Police Department officers on July 6 for exceeding the speed limit and not having his driver's license with him. The incident, which occurred around 11:20 a.m., is the third time Smith has encountered law enforcement in Davie, Florida, in the past three months.

During the traffic stop, body camera footage showed an officer complimenting Smith on his 2025 silver Aston Martin before noting the vehicle was traveling 70 mph in a 45 mph zone. Smith informed the officer that his license was inside his home and that the car belonged to a friend. The officer took down Smith's information and issued him two citations: one for unlawful speed and another for failing to carry his license.

This latest encounter follows two previous incidents. In April, Smith was pulled over for allegedly driving a vehicle with improper tags. In May, police responded to his residence after a woman accused him of assault following a dispute. While a probe into the assault allegation was initially closed, it was later reopened and remains under investigation.

Smith, who was traded to the Jets from the Raiders earlier in the offseason, has not publicly commented on any of the three police interactions.
