The New York Jets' offense will be further challenged on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, as the team announced that starting running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell will both be inactive. This marks the second consecutive game Hall will miss due to a quad injury, while Mitchell's absence will extend to a third game as he continues to recover from a finger injury.

Mitchell sustained his injury on September 24, when his finger became caught in a defender's jersey. Head coach Aaron Glenn stated that Mitchell has not undergone surgery but did not provide specific diagnostic details, emphasizing that the receiver is progressing faster than anticipated. Glenn expressed optimism about Mitchell's potential return for the following week's game against New England.

"When it comes to a receiver and you talk about a finger, those things vary when it comes to difficulty as far as catching the ball and the pain tolerance," Glenn said Friday. "Actually, he’s progressing faster than we thought he would, once we got to the end of knowing exactly what the prognosis was as far as his finger. I like where he’s at and hopefully we’ll see how that goes onto next week."

Adding to the receiving corps' challenges, first-round pick Omar Cooper Jr. is sidelined with an ankle injury, and Arian Smith is out with an ACL tear. In their last game, a loss to Chicago, the depleted receiving unit managed only 119 receiving yards.

However, the Jets will see the return of tight end Mason Taylor, who missed the previous two games with a thumb injury. Veteran receiver Tim Patrick, nursing a groin injury, also has the potential to make his team debut after his 21-day practice window was opened.

On the defensive side, left guard Dylan Parham will be out with a knee injury, and linebacker Kiko Maiguoa is sidelined with a quad issue. The Jets are looking to snap a three-game losing streak with their current lineup.
