Jets Coach Aaron Glenn Fined $250K for Conduct Toward NFL Officials
The fine for the Jets' head coach is temporarily suspended pending good behavior.

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has been fined $250,000 by the NFL for his conduct toward game officials, according to a source. This penalty was one of three levied against head coaches for similar infractions.
The fine is currently on hold and can be rescinded if Glenn maintains good behavior. The league is using these fines to emphasize coaches' treatment of officials.
Glenn acknowledged the league's stance on officials without directly addressing his fine. "I don’t think that’s ever been a problem at all," Glenn said Friday. "Listen, I understand how the league works and I am fully behind how the league operates and I don’t think any coach within this league has any issues with the refs. We know it’s a tough game and refs make those split-second calls at that time. It’s tough. So we support the refs, we support what the league’s doing."
He added, "And, again, I keep those things between me, the refs and the NFL."
During the Jets' recent loss to the Patriots, the team incurred five penalties totaling 35 yards. One penalty, an offensive pass interference call on receiver Tim Patrick, nullified an Omar Cooper Jr. touchdown early in the game.
In other team news, running back Breece Hall, who has missed the last three games with a quad injury, was limited in practice for the second consecutive day and is questionable for Sunday's game. "We’ll take it all the way to Sunday and see how he feels," Glenn stated.
Starting left guard Dylan Parham (knee) and running back/kick returner Kene Nwangwu (knee) are also questionable. The team has ruled out linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (quad), offensive lineman Max Mitchell (concussion), and edge rusher Joseph Ossai (ankle).
Glenn also clarified that Jarvis Brownlee Jr. was not benched at the end of the Patriots game, explaining that different defensive packages utilize both Brownlee and rookie cornerback D’Angelo Ponds as inside slot cornerbacks. "Both of those guys will play," Glenn said.
