Jesy Nelson Withdraws from 'I'm A Celebrity' to Care for Twin Daughters with SMA

Jesy Nelson has reportedly withdrawn from a six-figure deal to appear on the reality television show "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" to focus on caring for her twin daughters, who are battling Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type 1. The former Little Mix singer, 35, made the decision with a "heavy heart," according to reports.

A source close to Nelson stated that there was "no way" she would leave her children, Ocean and Story, to enter the Australian jungle. The source added that Nelson was looking forward to using the platform "I'm A Celebrity" could provide for her advocacy work concerning SMA. ITV, the show's broadcaster, has expressed understanding and support for Nelson's decision, with the door reportedly remaining open for her to participate in the future.

Nelson publicly announced in January that her daughters had been diagnosed with SMA. She has since been recognized for her efforts in advocating for the condition, contributing to the government's announcement of a national rollout for newborn screening for SMA.

Nelson recently made public her relationship with boyfriend Ben Davies, whom she brought as her date to the National Television Awards. The singer had previously documented her split from her ex-fiancé and the father of her children, Zion Foster, in her documentary "Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix," describing the breakup as a traumatic experience that impacted their ability to co-parent effectively. Foster is also reported to be in a new relationship.
