Jesy Nelson's Twins Return to Hospital for SMA Treatment

Jesy Nelson has announced that her 16-month-old twins, Ocean and Story, have been readmitted to the hospital as they continue to battle spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) type 1. The Little Mix star shared a photo on Instagram Stories showing the twins in hospital beds together.

Nelson revealed her daughters' diagnosis in January and has since documented the challenges of their care on social media. The news of their hospital return comes after Nelson appeared to criticize her ex-partner, Zion Foster, implying he was a neglectful father. Nelson and Foster separated in January, shortly after the twins' diagnosis was made public.

Foster, in a recent interview on The Real Spill podcast, addressed the public scrutiny and online abuse he has faced since the diagnosis. He described the situation as a "lonely space" filled with uncertainty and negative messages, but stated he focuses on staying positive. He also shared his strategy of using a separate phone for social media to manage the impact of online content.

Discussing his twin daughters' health, Foster acknowledged the challenges of co-parenting a child with a "life-limiting" genetic disorder. He expressed pride in his daughters and his role as a father, emphasizing his commitment to their well-being and development. Foster stated his desire to encourage his daughters by focusing on what they can do, rather than their limitations due to SMA, to prevent future confidence issues.

The couple's journey with their twins' diagnosis was featured in the Amazon Prime series Jesy Nelson: Life Changing. The series depicted Foster struggling with the diagnosis, expressing feelings of being overwhelmed and out of his depth. Following their split, Nelson noted the difficulty of their situation, stating, "It's just me and mum now." Foster later clarified his "out of my depth" comments on Instagram, explaining they referred to the overwhelming nature of learning about the rare medical condition and not a lack of commitment to his daughters.
