Jesy Nelson has confirmed her new relationship with boyfriend Ben Davies, sharing their first photo together on Instagram. The singer, 35, posted an image of Davies driving a Range Rover while holding her hand, marking the first time his face has appeared on her social media platform.
Nelson and Davies have been dating since Nelson's split from her ex Zion Foster. Earlier this month, reports emerged that one of their dates was interrupted when they were reportedly ejected from a bar. According to The Sun, the incident occurred at Madison in St Paul's, after Davies was described as "getting in people's faces." The group was asked to leave, and the situation reportedly became "quite heated with the men shouting at bouncers."
An insider told The Sun that Nelson was attempting to "deescalate the situation" during the altercation. Nelson and Davies were seen together at My Old Dutch Pancake House before the reported incident at the bar.
Nelson previously teased a look at Davies in late July, sharing an image on her Instagram Stories that showed a tattooed arm, which she captioned as indicating the pair were enjoying drinks. In the recent social media post, Davies is seen wearing black attire with his tattooed arms visible, while Nelson's hand is shown reaching out.
The public confirmation of her relationship comes as Nelson has been actively campaigning to raise awareness for Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA), a rare muscle-wasting condition. Her twin daughters, Ocean and Story, were diagnosed with SMA in January, shortly after Nelson and Foster announced their separation.
In her Amazon Prime documentary, Nelson discussed the split from Foster, describing it as a "traumatic thing." She explained that they were dealing with their daughters' diagnosis differently, which led to clashes and ultimately their decision to separate. Nelson stated that her primary focus is on being the best mother possible for her daughters. She also expressed pride that her daughters' story has contributed to change regarding SMA awareness.
SMA can affect a baby's ability to sit up, crawl, or walk. In severe cases, it can impact breathing and swallowing. Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve outcomes for affected children. Testing for SMA is conducted shortly after birth using a blood sample.
Nelson has spoken emotionally about the campaign for SMA, expressing devastation when a decision was made in Parliament not to roll out nationwide testing. She described herself as a "big manifester" and believed that putting one's mind to something could make it happen, but felt let down by the parliamentary decision.
